The season of Christmas (also known as Christmastide) begins on December 25 and stretches twelve days until the Epiphany of Our Lord on January 6. This span is one of feasting, generosity, and joy that celebrates the unparalleled gift of the incarnate Son of God. Epiphany, a word that means “manifestation,” is a day and season that celebrates the revelation of Jesus to all nations and peoples. On Epiphany the church remembers the visit of the magi from the East as well as the baptism of Jesus.
